Does all the conflicting marriage and parenting advice touted by modern day culture leave you confused and bewildered?

Do you long for a seasoned mentor a little further down life’s road who’d be willing to point out the potholes and provide practical pointers?

Then you’ve come to the right place!

Welcome, friend! My name is Jennifer Flanders. As a devout Christian, happy wife, homeschool mom of twelve, and grandma of 20 (so far!), I’m well-practiced in minding the things that matter most. And since the Bible charges older women to teach younger women to love their husbands, love their children, and be keepers at home, I have a scriptural mandate to share the things I’ve learned with you.

Loving Life at Home is your go-to podcast for Titus 2 encouragement in marriage, motherhood, and minding what matters most. In it, I’ll teach you how to:

--> nurture your marriage and cultivate a life-long love with your husband
--> communicate with your husband in a way he understands and appreciates
--> raise children you not only love, but enjoy spending time with
--> create a warm, peaceful, inviting home that is a blessing to all who spend time there
--> cheerfully attend to all the sanctifying work that marriage, motherhood, and managing a home entails
--> use your time wisely, looking to God for the grace and strength to fulfill His call on your life

So grab a cup of tea and tune in every Monday morning.. In each 20-minute episode, you’ll get biblical encouragement, actionable advice, and firsthand insights on faith and family gleaned from over 35 years of marriage and motherhood and over 50 years of following Jesus.

This is birthday week for our family: my daughter's birtday is the 20th, mine's the 21st, my husband's is the 22, and we met on the 23rd. That last point -- the story of how I met my husband -- is the topic of today's podcast.

EP 40 - Setting Worthwhile Goals

EP 40 - Setting Worthwhile Goals

Goals are important because they provide a sense of purpose and direction. Proverbs 16:9 assures us “A man’s heart plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps.”
So even when you aren’t 100% sure what the LORD would have you do with your time, I recommend prayerfully setting a worthwhile goal and working toward it. As long as you hold your plans lightly, you can trust God to redirect you if that is what needs to happen.

EP 38: Making the Most of Your Child's Learning Style

EP 38: Making the Most of Your Child's Learning Style

Modern lists of learning styles are much lengthier than the one I learned in school. And after raising 12 children, I can think of a few learning styles I've never seen on any chart. So in this episode of Loving Life at Home, we are discussing how to make the most of your child's learning style -- and what to do if you can't figure it out.
    SCRIPTURES CITED:
    - Galatians 6:9 - "And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.”
    - James 1:5 - “But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.”
    - Proverbs 22:6 - "Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it."
    - Deuteronomy 11:18-21 - "Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes. And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down and when thou risest up. And thou shalt write them upon the door posts of thine house, and upon thy gates….”

    EP 37: Favorite Easter Traditions

    EP 37: Favorite Easter Traditions

In honor of holy week, I 'm sharing a few of our family’s favorite Easter traditions today.
Although I love baskets and bunnies and colorful candy as much as anyone, we’ve always tried to place the main emphasis of this season on the sacrificial death and bodily resurrection of Jesus – and on what Christ’s finished work means to those who put their faith in Him.
For specific ways to do this, listen in this week's episode in full.

Such wisdom

I’m so glad I discovered this podcast. I actually stumbled upon it searching for biblical parenting podcasts. Jennifer is full of wisdom and backs everything up with God’s Word which is so important to me. I highly recommend this for any mama who is striving to raise her children to be set apart in today’s culture.

Mom24Nanny21 ,

Wisdom so clearly shared.

I have known Jennifer for over 20 years. I watched her raise her 12 children. She has such wisdom. She is everything in person that she appears to be online. I’ve listen to her first three podcasts and I think she does an excellent job communicating her wisdom and experience. I highly recommend everyone who is raising children or who wants a successful marriage to subscribe to Jennifer’s podcast.
